Cardone pasta products are made with organically grown Italian wheat and reflect a desire to reclaim traditional pasta shapes and reintroduce “ancient” ingredients like Senatore Cappelli wheat. To communicate the company’s strong values, visual cues were developed that convey a sense of authenticity and the history that underpins Puglia’s food culture, such as the yellow of the ears of corn and the wheat fields and the textured wood of the pasta rolling board.
These simple elements define the company’s image, which is reflected in the packaging design: a shape that, despite its simplicity, has something unique, to emphasize the niche nature of Cardone pasta. The choice of colors and paper follows the conventions of organic product presentation, but the distinctive shape, font choice, composition, cut of the window revealing the pasta, and the image reproduced on the side of the box lend the product a sophisticated appeal while highlighting its naturalness.
